Reduce your Climate Change Levy
POLKYTH LEISURE CENTRE - In a recent retro-fit installation at Polykth Leisure Centre, a Somar Eluma solution was implemented to replace 16 x 400W SON high bay fittings. Owing to the yellow "streetlight" nature of the light delivered, not only was there a requirement to save energy but to also increase light levels. An installation of 24 x Somar Eluma were therefore implemented. Even with this increase in numbers, a significant saving was delivered in energy and the kWh related Climate Change Levy (@ 4.3p p/kWh). Additionally, an annual reduction of 13.79 tonnes of CO2 was delivered, contributing significantly to the sustainability targets of the Centre and the Local Authority
Interestingly, positive feedback was also received from members of the public using the Leisure Centre who saw that the auto-switch off feature was helping the environemnt by saving unnecessary energy usage.
